rejuvenate sagging, aging breasts
Breast lift is a wonderful procedure that can dramatically rejuvenate a sagging or aging breast. This surgical procedure enhances the shape of the breasts by elevating them and modifying their contours. It accomplishes this by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissues. It corrects nipples that are pointing downwards, reduces sag, and corrects asymmetry.
We, here at the Institute, have a tremendous experience with the vertical incision lift, also known as the “lollipop” technique. This will leave the breast with a tighter, more “perky” shape. This technique also results in less scarring than the traditional “anchor” technique. The breast lift procedure is also called mastopexy surgery and is often combined with an implant to enhance the overall size of the breasts, but this depends on the ultimate goal of each individual. These options would be thoroughly discussed at your consultation. We offer breast lift procedures at our Plano TX surgical center, easily reachable from Dallas and the surrounding area.

what to expect
good candidates
You are a suitable candidate for the breast lift procedure if:
- You do not have any underlying medical conditions that could lead to severe side effects.
- You have not had any breast rejuvenation procedures done recently.
- You have realistic expectations for the surgery.
- You are not allergic to anesthesia.
- You are not a smoker, or you are willing to quit before the surgery.
- You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant.
After it is determined that you are a suitable candidate, a treatment plan is made that will include the treatment area, type of incisions, and more. You may also be asked to take a baseline mammogram before the procedure and a few months after the procedure to check the progress in the breast tissue.
consultation
The breast lift procedure starts with a consultation with your surgeon, who will determine whether you are a suitable candidate for the procedure. We will review your medical history, existing medical conditions, medications, allergies, and family medical history to ensure that there are no underlying conditions that could affect the results of the procedure.
during the Procedure
During the surgery, the treatment area is cleaned with an antiseptic, and the incision points are marked. The procedure takes approximately 2 hours and is done on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia.
As per the predetermined treatment plan, the incisions are made. The underlying breast tissue is lifted and reshaped. The nipple and areola may also be repositioned and resized. Any excess breast skin is then removed and the incisions are closed with sutures.
Recovery
Sutures are dissolvable and you will be placed in a supportive bra that we recommend you wear for 3-6 months. We generally recommend you take one week to recover after a breast lift procedure; however, this may vary depending on your lifestyle. Avoiding strenuous activities during recovery is vital.
Cost
The cost of a breast lift varies because it is a highly individualized surgery tailored for each patient. The overall price may include anesthesia, operating room facilities, new breast implants, and other related expenses. Additional tests and imaging may also add to your total. Benefits of a Breast Lift
A breast lift restores position, shape, and proportion to breasts that have lost their original contour. The most immediate result is elevation. Breasts that have descended or flattened are repositioned higher on the chest wall, producing a more youthful profile. The nipple and areola — which often migrate downward as the breast changes — are repositioned to a more forward-facing location at the same time.
A breast lift also addresses asymmetry, and for patients who have experienced volume loss, the procedure can be combined with implants to restore fullness alongside improved position. Key benefits include:
- Elevated, better-positioned breasts
- Corrected nipple direction and placement
- Reduced asymmetry between sides
- A firmer, more youthful breast contour
- Restored volume when combined with augmentation
- Improved clothing fit and body confidence
Results are long-lasting when the weight remains stable after surgery.

FAQs About Breast Lift
What is the difference between a breast lift and breast augmentation?
A breast lift reshapes and elevates existing tissue without adding volume. Breast augmentation adds size using implants. The two are often combined for patients who want both improved position and fuller results.
What is the lollipop technique?
The lollipop lift uses a vertical incision, resulting in less scarring than the traditional anchor technique while still producing a tighter, more elevated shape.
How long is breast lift recovery?
Most patients return to light activity within one to two weeks. Full recovery takes four to six weeks.
Will a breast lift leave scars?
Some scarring is expected. The lollipop technique minimizes this compared to the anchor method. Scars typically fade significantly over time.
