Dear AI4PS Patients and Patrons:
You may have seen or read the news today regarding the impending suspension of elective surgeries in Dallas county. Governor Greg Abbott did issue an order that suspends most elective surgeries in hospitals in Dallas, Bexar, Harris and Travis counties. AI4PS is located in Collin County so this order would not apply to our clinic and facilities at this time. Further, the order intends to suspend elective surgeries for hospitals located in the aforementioned counties and does not apply to outpatient clinics or ambulatory surgery centers. Please see below for an excerpt from the Governor’s statement:
“These four counties have experienced significant increases in people being hospitalized due to COVID-19, and today’s action is a precautionary step to help ensure that the hospitals in these counties continue to have ample supply of available beds to treat COVID-19 patients,” Governor Abbott said in a statement.
The Executive Order, which goes into effect at 11:59 pm Friday, is not as restrictive as one Abbott enacted in March that prohibited all Texas physicians from performing elective surgeries at all facilities statewide.
For example, today’s order does not affect outpatient clinics or ambulatory surgery centers.
Our screening procedures remain in place which include a temperature check upon arrival and ensuring that all patients and visitors are wearing a mask or other facial covering. Also, if you currently have a fever or if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms we ask that you do not come to our facility and to please call our office at (972) 543-2477 to reschedule your appointment.
Thank you for your cooperation.
